First Day of Preschool: Sonshine Kids (January 3, 2012)

Today was your first day of Sonshine Kids ( a class for parents and their 2 year olds to enjoy together). You had such a great time at preschool and were really happy that several of your friends are also in the class, especially Keira and Lillian!

The first thing we did after we signed in and put on our name tags was to go outside and play.

After we went inside, we had "Opening Circle" and then "Activity Time". You had a great time at the different activity stations, and especially liked the rice table.

Then after the activities, we all cleaned up and then you had snack time. You sat with the other children at a table and did a good job eating your goldfish and drinking water out of a plastic cup. Then after you were done, you took your paper towel and cup and threw them in the trash.

To end the preschool class, we had "Circle and Story Time". The teachers made a few lines with tape and you sat on the tape the whole time.

Mommy is so excited to go with you every week to preschool!!

Making a Gingerbread House

Mommy & Daddy wanted to start a tradition of having you make and decorate a gingerbread house every year. We also bought you the Gingerbread Man book to read to you before we began making the house.

We first read you The Gingerbread Man book:

You were a little too young to help assemble the gingerbread house this year, so Nanna & PopPop put it together. Thank you Nanna and PopPop!

You were so excited when you saw the house again after your nap, and you immediately began picking off the M&Ms.

Daddy then helped you decorate the front of the house with the little sugar people.

You love your completed gingerbread house!

Briana's Big Girl Bed

Nanna & PopPop wanted to buy you a big girl bed when they were here, so we all went to pick one out. Mommy really liked the store "Children's Land" and found a very pretty white sleigh bed with drawers underneath. We took you to the store to try it out and you loved it! Nanna & PopPop bought the bed that day and Daddy went back the next day to pick it up and put it together.

We bought you two sets of sheets and a pretty pony bedspread and sham.

You love your new bed!!! Thank you Nanna & PopPop!!!!

Christmas Day 2011

On Christmas Eve before you went to bed, you put lots of chocolate cookies on the Santa plate and Daddy helped you pour a glass of milk for Santa. You even tried a cookie to make sure they tasted good enough for Santa. When you woke up on Christmas morning, the first thing you did was to check the plate and cup to see if Santa had been there, and he had been! He drank all the milk and left a few cookie crumbs on the plate. You were so excited!!!! Then Mommy & Daddy took you over to the Christmas tree to see if we could see any presents from Santa, and he brought you two presents...wow!!!!

After Nanna and PopPop came over, we put a birthday candle in the crumb cake and we all sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus" and you even helped to blow out the candle!!! Then Nanna & PopPop helped you open lots of presents!!

In the afternoon we went over to Grammie's House for a family Christmas dinner.

Winter/Christmas Celebrations (December 2011)

Mommy & Daddy took you to so many fun places this month to celebrate winter/Christmas!! We went to the Winter Wonderland at Hilltop Park, The Living Nativity at Horizon Church, Holiday Nights at the Bernardo Winery, and Santa's Workshop at the Joyas House in Poway.

We went to Hilltop Park for their Winter Wonderland Celebration. We did so many exciting things!! Daddy went rock climbing, you went for a pony ride, played in the petting zoo, we went on a carriage ride, you went on your first ride by yourself on the swings, you got your face painted, had your first taste of a candy cane, and you even went to see Santa Clause and sat on his lap (just like Dora)!

Your First Ride: The Swing

We also went to the Holiday Nights at the Bernardo Winery with Nanna & PopPop. We all went on a carriage ride, and you took another picture with Santa and had your face painted again and got a candy cane balloon.
